Kids with cancer are not defined by their illness. Alex was just a regular little girl in many ways- she loved playing with Barbies, especially in the hospital when it provided an escape from the harsh realities of her treatment. On #NationalBarbieDay, we remember Alex for the person she was and how that personality would come out when playing with her favorite doll, Stacie. "We spent hours together playing with Barbie dolls," said Liz Scott, Alex's mom. "Alex’s preferred doll was Stacie, Barbie’s little sister, so I often got to play the role of Barbie, the big sister. Stacie and Barbie got us through many long days at the hospital and too many days of Alex not feeling well enough to do much else."
