The Berkeley Seismology Lab has been expanding the Northern California seismic network with more than 100 new and upgraded stations. Within the past five years, the Berkeley Digital Seismic Network has increased from about 50 to nearly 180 stations and upgraded with new digital seismic technology. The expansion is being funded by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.
