🦋🌐 WHM 🌐🦋- For Women’s History Month we wanted to highlight — ANITA MAGSAYSAY-HO (1914–2012), who was a Filipino painter best known for her Social Realist and post-Cubist portrayals of Filipino life and culture, notably and frequently celebrating groups of women engaged in labor ✊🏽🌾 A true Gemini 👯‍♀️ born on May 25, 1914 in Manila, Magsaysay-Ho studied under Fernando Amorsolo at the University of the Philippines’ School of Fine Arts. Just last weekend her painting, “Planting Rice”, was auctioned off by auction house Leon Gallery for the benefit of the artist scholars of Asian Cultural Council (ACC) just in time for WHM 💥 Magsaysay-Ho received significant critical acclaim and recognition for her work and can be found among the collections of institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, and the Ateneo Art Gallery in Manila, Philippines. Here’s to celebrating the women who came before us and our commitment to honoring them, every damn day ✨💛 . . . . . . . . . #AnitaM...
