It's that time of the year... which means Junior Science & Humanities Symposium - JSHS regional competitions are here! Today, Aliyah Tolentino, one of the students in the STaR Program, is competing at the regional symposium in Columbia, Missouri, hosted by Mizzou and Mizzou Engineering. Aliyah is a high school senior at Whitefield Academy in Kansas City, MO. She is competing in the Biomedical Sciences category at today's symposium and has completed a research project and presentation focused on proteins associated with the terminal process of erythropoiesis (production of erythrocytes, also knows as red blood cells).
