If you know Hubbard’s story, you know his road has been far from east, and now it’s still far from finished. Undrafted out of NAIA @msu_comets, Drei went overseas to play in the Czech Republic for @dracibrno before returning to the states to play in the Pacific Association and the Fronteir League in 2019. In the 2019-2020 offseason, he signed with the San Diego Padres - marking his first opportunity in affiliated baseball. That opportunity quickly disappeared as we were hit with the COVID-19 pandemic. The MiLB season was cancelled, and Drei was released. Forget the career opportunity, Drei didn’t even have the opportunity to unpack his bags at spring training before it was over.
