Growing up I was super shy, quiet, and (like most girls growing up) hated looking stupid in front of my friends. Being this way kept me from wanting to stand out and kept me from having as much fun as I could have playing sports. It wasn’t until I figured out that putting the team first instead of constantly judging myself was the route to being free from the shyness. Beyond that, it allowed me to be my best because that’s what was best for the team. When we are self-conscious and introverted, we never think of that as being selfish or self-obsessed, but when we can’t be present with our friends- being aware of that kind of perspective can jolt us into activating a more present mindset. Here for you introverts, but I will NOT enable you to live less of a life because I understand where you come from.
