Three years ago I started to write about the parts of my sport and my life that affected me most: my internal talk, my confidence, expectations of others.
At times, I felt like the only one who had to fight through internal struggles but that feeling is just part of the reason why training your inner defense is so challenging.
Unlike getting reps on the field at your position, unlike showing up to a lesson to work on a specific mechanic- working on the mental game requires you to ask more of yourself even when people can’t see it.
