“Elbows Up” is a phrase I created to get girls into a more efficient movement pattern after fielding a ground ball. . Instead of transferring the ball out of the glove with ball facing up, I was taught to separate equal and opposite with the ball facing down- and that’s what I’m passing on to my girls. . In this video, we are trying out keeping the ball closer or in glove after fielding while keeping feet moving towards the target. Sometimes when focusing on “elbows up,” we can get too robotic and scarecrow-like instead of letting the elbows naturally pull up and back before the throw. . . . #dwc #elbowsup #softball
