With term life insurance, you can get the same amount of coverage for a fraction of the price of a whole life insurance policy. A term policy lasts for a set number of years, that's why it's called "term" insurance (I recommend a 15-20 year term). With it, you pay a low rate each month for the coverage you need. Plus, term coverage is much more affordable, so you can get a policy worth a lot more than whole life... which means your family is even more financially protected during the term.
