I have not seen a situation where this works out well. From a legal standpoint, you’re forming a general partnership. Whether you’re dating or just friends, this gets very complicated. If the other person leaves, you’re stuck with the mortgage payment, and you can’t sell it without their permission because they are ALSO an owner.
