We had some savings but went to the grocery store one day and I remember Cole wanting to buy something non essential and I told him we shouldn't get it because we're spending more than saving. We came home and had a huge life changing talk about money! He said "I read this Dave Ramsey book in college and I'm going to read it again and try to get us out of debt". When he told me the baby steps and how the snowball thing worked I had doubts but told him we would try it cuz I was ready for a change. 29 months later here we are!
