In April of 2017, we signed up for Financial Peace University at church. DJ had $145,900 in student loans, and we had a $14,300 car loan. We both latched on to Dave Ramsey’s baby steps and have been going crazy paying off this debt ever since. . If you’ve ever wondered, “Gee, DJ and Erin have been married for almost 5 years, and they still live in an apartment?” Or, “Why haven’t they had kids yet?” Now you know why! (Yes, we see your judgmental looks when we say we’re paying off debt first haha) . While 2020 had been crazy, frustrating and often disappointing, this is our one bright spot this year. .
