Excellent job! Proud of you. 💪 #repost invertedoptics This is by no means a boastful post. I just want to share my debt-free journey with everyone to show that getting out in debt is achievable. About a month ago on 12/14/2019, I paid off my last consumer debt—my student loan. Over the past 16 months, I’ve paid off $33,030 aggressively and sacrificially by becoming very frugal, selling everything in sight (including my beloved Subaru WRX), working side jobs, telling my money what to do by having a tight budget (which took months to dial-in), postponing fun things and having almost no life. My girlfriend was my biggest cheerleader as she regularly cooked for me and agreed that it was better to pay off my debts rather than go out on regular dates. This debt was an accumulation of a phone, 401K loan, a car, credit cards and student loans. No more payments. You’re probably thinking, “aren’t you going to purchase a home”?
