A little over two years ago we started our debt free journey. Our debt was mainly my student loans, totaling around $51,000. We did Financial Peace University at home and immediately jumped into stork mode, as I was around 6 months pregnant with our daughter. FPU ignited our spark to change our bad habits and make sure our children will never have to deal with the stress of student loan debt. We decided our ultimate goal was to be debt free by our daughters 2nd Birthday. We saved and saved until we got our first medical bill from the hospital from our daughter’s birth (which was about 8 months) and we paid cash for her entire birth bill.
