This opened our eyes to what we needed to start doing. Our friends katie_lu granolajeremy encouraged us to follow daveramsey and start the Baby Steps to being debt free. We totaled up our debt, and at over $53K, it felt impossible, but we knew we had to do it. We made a budget with everydollar, followed the plan, made a lot of sacrifices, had to say no to a lot of fun things. We put off buying a house and we’re given the opportunity to live rent free in a fire station. We had various income fluctuations, but consistently worked hard to raise our income throughout this time, from $52K to $90K.
