We’re going into 2019 debt free! We’d already paid off a lot of our student debt on our own, but when we got married a year ago, we made it a goal to pay off the rest in a year and a half. We started following daveramsey and realized that we may be able to do it sooner, and we did! We just had our first anniversary and the debt is gone! We made sure to have a $1000 emergency fund, per Baby Step 1, and have spent the last year conquering Baby Step 2. This also would not have been possible without plenty of support and encouragement from our families. There were times where we felt like we were missing out, and they reminded us that financial freedom would give us opportunities that we wouldn’t have while we were in debt.
