For years I had been gradually plugging away at my debt. I did a budget, I did the debt snowball, but I never planned an end date. Last August I heard a debt free scream while listening to daveramsey. The couple went to a church in Louisville Kentucky and their pastor preached a sermon on debt and challenged the congregation to be debt free by August 2018. I sat down and looked at my own financial situation. I realized if I truly cut back more and went all in I could achieve this challenge. The date felt meant to be. I drained my savings account, completed no spend months, and threw any extra money I could find at my debt.
