Raising kids while on a
#debtfreejourney can be hard. We have 4 children ages 10, 9, 5, and 3. We don’t buy them toys except at Christmas, we don’t buy them new technology, we don’t throw them elaborate birthday parties, we limit their participation in sports, and we don’t take them to do expensive activities or vacations. There’s a lot we “don’t” do, but I believe that what we ARE giving them is so much greater.

We’re giving them a real life lesson that debt makes you a slave. We’re showing them that you might make mistakes, but if you take responsibility and work hard, you can fix them. We are teaching them contentment. We are teaching them that work equals money. We give them responsibilities and commissions. They can buy their own toys. You know how empowering that is for a child? This is what we give them.
