In the summer of 2017, Jamie Margolin’s (jamie_s_margolin) hometown of Seattle was enveloped in smoke due to nearby wildfires. “Breathing the air hurt,” she says. “I decided that the local climate organizing I had been doing in my community had to be taken to the next level — there needed to be mass mobilizations of youth all over the world standing up for our lives and our futures.” ⁣ ⁣ So Jamie, who’s now 19, co-founded Zero Hour, the international youth climate justice organization that leads marches in cities around the world.
