If you’re not familiar with driving in the snow, winter tires can help you feel safer. However, if you’re only driving around town and otherwise in flat areas, you can do with all-weather tires, or even road tires if the tread is still good. Waiting a day or two while the sun melts the snow makes a huge difference. Snow tires are best for when it’s below 45 degrees out, as higher temps affect braking and the wear on the tires. So if you’re waiting for the snow to melt before going out, it doesn’t make sense to use winter tires. If you do opt for winter tires, keep in mind you will need to change them out at the start and end of the seasons (we can do that!). You’ll need a place to store them for the off-season. Additionally, your winter tires still will need care: you’ll need to make sure they have the correct pressure in them, as well as getting them rotated (we can rotate!). At the end of the day, it’s best to assess your needs to determine whether you’d be better off with buying...
