Another influential woman in PR was Doris Elsa Fleischman Bernays (1891 - 1980). Although she was married to the “Father of PR” Edward Bernays, and worked as a writer for his firm, Doris Fleischman is more well-known for her feminist activism. As a member of the Lucy Stone League, she advocated for women to keep their maiden names after marriage.
