This is Pearl Moore. This is not a comparison post. Pearl Moore’s name has probably been Googled more this last week more than it’s ever been. Her career points total — a staggering 4,061 — still stands as the overall record in women’s hoops. Caitlin Clark of #Iowa broke the current #NCAA record previously held by #LVACES Kelsey Plum. Caitlin Clark is a a star in her own right and has earned the respect of many current and former players, male and female, as well as 🏀 fans worldwide 🌎, myself included, but maybe it’s time the #NCAA took a page out of the #MLB playbook when it recognized and incorporated the ⚾️ #stats and achievements of the #negroleagues into its own and do likewise with those of the #AIAW in order to recognize the achievements of players like Pearl Moore. By the way, should Clark forego entering the #WNBA draft this year there’s a high probability she’ll surpass the overall points record held by Pearl Moore.
