We have been blessed with the wonderful gifts of God: his love, mercy, grace, presence. We are filled with Jesus, who provides us with the water of life. The Holy Spirit causes an outflow of rivers of living water. This is not for us to hoard alone. The rivers outpour so that we may share with others; to give to the thirsty. Likewise we are called to give bread to the fugitive, Jesus is the bread of life, this is the bread that we share. To those who are fleeing from their struggles and suffering, would the Father comfort them and give them rest. Isaiah pictured refugees fleeing war in Arabia, he knew that the Lord called for his people to be servants, to love, to be generous. Even when it is hard, reach out and look on them with compassion. With all cheerfulness, relieve the afflicted. May we join the Father as he invites us into his work, reaching the lost and afflicte...
