"As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like the grass..." -Isaiah 66:13-14
Your heavenly Father is looking out for you and waiting with open arms. He longs for us to be in his presence, that we find joy and comfort in him. Just as a mother would soothe her newborn or an elephant would soothe their herd's calves (particularly the mother), God seeks to comfort us. He wants us to find refuge in him. When we are grieved by this world, he is there. It's written that Jesus wept for his friends and he understood loss, betrayal, pain, rejection, and everything that any of us would feel; he took all our sins upon the cross, bearing the full weight of what we have done. He sympathizes with us, comforts us, and ultimately releases us from the yoke of the world. Let us rejoice in our Father who loves us so dearly!!
Elephants are considered one of the most empathic species...
