Bird of Paradise 🦚🦜🌺

Best way to achieve is through years of practice, flexible hams and glutes, and a strong double bind in side angle pose.
Throughout this week, I've decided to take on a yoga challenge and provide some nuggets of yoga and body knowledge along the way.
If this pose appears impossible to your body right now, then let's focus on one of my favorite aspects of this pose that anyone can work and improve on.
The drishti 👀
Gaze is so important to balancing. It's the ability to use and rely on your eyes as an additional limb. To find your drishti, it's best to focus on a single unmoving point that doesn't create a lot of emotion. (Looking at a spec on the wall or ground, rather than a picture or face.) Let your gaze be soft but confident. If you're moving through a balance, as I am in this photo series, you can find multiple drishtis and (WITH BREATH) walk the gaze to where you desire to be!
Yoga uses every extension of yourself. Don't be afraid to look!
