Photo by gabrielegalimbertiphoto | This is Bethsaida Michel, 6 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, photographed with her favorite toys for my Toy Stories project. I've been working on this theme for 10 years; so far I've captured portraits in over 60 countries, recording the spontaneous and genuine joy that unites kids despite their diverse backgrounds. Whether the children own a veritable fleet of miniature cars or a single stuffed monkey, the pride they have is moving, funny, and thought-provoking.
