Photos by javier_aznar_photography | The Chocó rainforest is one of the most biodiverse places in the world. Extending from Panama to Ecuador, this forest houses thousands of species of plants and animals. During the last few years, I've photographed some of them, from insects to mammals and fungi to trees. In Ecuador, only 2 to 3% of the original forest is intact due to deforestation from logging, mining, palm oil plantations, and other causes. Meanwhile, as we gradually lose this unique place, hundreds of species unknown to science remain undescribed. Here are some of the inhabitants.
