Photo by kiliiiyuyan | Brightly colored reefs of the Pacific Northwest have caused many of their inhabitants to adopt camouflage. This type of large sculpin, known as a red Irish lord, is usually found on outcroppings where currents sweep prey to the front. It’s dwarfed by the meter-tall (3 ft) plumose anemones, also reaching into the current to collect their food. Follow me kiliiiyuyan for more cold-water magic.
