Photo by rubensalgadoescudero | Fisherman and builder Lukwago Kaliste, 29, hammers into a rock next to his home in Sango Bay, Uganda. When the evening comes—after a day of fishing—Lukwago breaks large rocks into smaller pieces that he later sells for building the foundations of homes. In three hours, he's able to break enough rocks to fill a small truck, worth about 10 dollars, giving him a much needed extra source of income. Sango Bay is a fishing village with 120 households standing on the shore of Lake Victoria. This is part of the long-term project Solar Portraits, which focuses on electricity access around the world and the impact of solar power in different communities.
