Photo by timlaman | After a pandemic pause, I’m excited to return to Borneo to resume work on a National Geographic story about the incredible diversity of life in Borneo’s rainforest, particularly in Gunung Palung National Park in West Kalimantan, Indonesia—one of Borneo's best remaining lowland rainforests. Rhinoceros hornbills are just one of eight spectacular hornbill species that I’ll have a chance to photograph in the park, where I’ll be working closely with the folks from savewildorangutans striving to protect not just orangutans but all biodiversity in the region by safeguarding forests.
