Photo by rubensalgadoescudero | Ko Ba Aye, 26, and his son, Sai Kaung Htet Mon, 1, sit outside their home in Lui Pan Sone village. Just 26% of Myanmar has access to electricity, and at least half of those people live in cities. In the country's roughly 68,000 villages, only 3,000 or so have any sort of access to power. Solar power allows Ko Ba Aye more quality time with his family after returning home from work. This image is part of Solar Portraits, my long-term project on electricity access and the impact of solar power on communities around the world.
