Video by tomasvh | Here are two views from drones flying inside the nave of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The first is from December 2020 when safety nets were strung across the nave to catch debris from the fragile vaulted ceilings that were damaged by the collapse of the burning roof and spire. A massive hole can be seen at the crossing, where the base of the spire fell. The second view is from one year later, when the nave was entirely filled with scaffolding. With the scaffolding now in place, teams will be able to work on the next phases of the restoration: repairing the vaults and rebuilding the roof trusses. Tap the link in our bio to read more.
