Video by Tomas van Houtryve tomasvh | The massive bell towers of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris are a testament to 800 years of strength and endurance. During the 2019 fire, flames briefly spread to the wooden framework that supports eight bells in the north tower. Together they weigh more than 18 tons. Firefighters managed to stop the blaze just in time. If they had not, the framework and the bells could have fallen, destabilizing the entire cathedral, and the situation at Notre Dame would have been much more dire than it is today. In partnership with the public institution in charge of the restoration of Notre Dame, rebatirnotredamedeparis, I've been flying my drone inside and over the cathedral to record the historic rebuilding process.
