Photo by babaktafreshi | Sometime after midnight, the sky in Patagonia begins to change. The rising moon, still invisible at my location in the forest, lights up the 3,400-meter-high (11,170 ft) Fitz Roy, a truly spectacular mountain in Argentina's Los Glaciares National Park, near the border with Chile. Slowly swipe to see the entire view of this 10-second exposure from late November. The highlight of this 13-kilometer roundtrip hike for my World at Night project was indeed the moonrise on the granite face of Fitz Roy.
