Photographer joelsartore captures footage of a Horsfield’s tarsier at Taman Safari Indonesia. This primate looks truly bizarre, but every aspect of its appearance is designed to help it survive in the wild. Elongated limbs allow the tarsier to jump between branches, covering distances about 40 times its body length, while large pads at the tips of its long, thin fingers and toes make for an impressive grip, ensuring the tarsier can land those jumps. Big yellow eyes paired with large ears make hunting at night a breeze, and the ability to rotate its head 180 degrees in each direction allows this primate to spy on and snatch prey from a fixed position.
