Photos by lynseyaddario / These first two images are from the Dixie Fire, burning near the Butte Lake campground in the Northern California's Lassen National Forest, on August 26. The Dixie Fire, which has already burned over 820,000 acres (332,000 ha), is the second largest fire in California history. There are nearly 5,000 firefighters assigned to fight the fire, which is roughly 48% contained. The last image is from the Caldor Fire, as it rips through the valley near the Sierra at Tahoe ski resort, south of Lake Tahoe, on August 29. Dozens of houses burned along Highway 50, and the fire continues to travel in the area. The Caldor Fire has burned 200,000 acres (80,000 ha) and is 18% contained.
