Photo by jasperdoest / On Friday morning Bob, a rehabilitated flamingo that was turned into an ambassador bird for the Fundashon Dier en Onderwijs Cariben (FDOC), walks into a classroom at the A.E. Goilo School in Julianadorp to teach children about conservation issues on the island of Curaçao. By bringing Bob into these schools, FDOC (fdoccuraco) is able to educate the children about Bob's friends and relatives out in the wild and their fragile habitat that needs to be protected with care. Due to the national lockdown on the island, Bob and his veterinarian handler Odette had to postpone their school visits. But as the safety measures are now getting more relaxed, Odette hopes to continue her environmental education soon.
