Photo by lynseyaddario / Agricultural workers harvest lettuce on the Ocean Mist farm in Southern California's Coachella Valley, in November. With climate change, there are noticeable shifts and extremes in temperatures, particularly in the last 5-6 years. Farmers in the area who have been working the fields for 25-30 years say the extreme cold at dawn and high temperatures during the day often damage the crops, bruise lettuce and bell peppers, and ultimately affect the working hours for those harvesting. This is from my "Mother Nature" project, funded with a National Geographic storytelling fellowship insidenatgeo. #ClimateChange #Agriculture #NationalGeographicExplorer #LynseyAddario
