Beluga families travel hundreds of miles to spend time at their summer playground—a location where a river flows into the sea. Water temperatures are slightly warmer here and the gravel bottom serves as a natural loofah on which they rub to remove old skin. Beluga whales are highly social and have complex cultures and ancestral traditions. Disney+ original series Secrets of the Whales, from NatGeo, is streaming this Earth Day, April 22, on DisneyPlus.
