Photo by paulnicklen / One of my favorite things to do as a photographer is find patterns in nature, and Antarctica's Iceberg Alley is a playground of order and chaos. I have spent countless hours here, obsessing over the incredible variety of textures in the ancient ice as it slowly returned to the sea. Each structure is temporary, unique, and perfect in its own way. I couldn't help but smile at this whimsical “ice mushroom” jutting out of the water against the backdrop of repeating horizontal lines that inspired the name “On Many Levels” for this print.
