The next generation of desert locusts arrives in northern Kenya. Last year when David Chancellor (chancellordavid) covered the arrival of the previous generation of locusts here in Kenya, it was suggested that the next generation, this one, would be even larger. It is indeed now arriving in large numbers, here on boranaconservancy via lewa_wildlife. Crushingly beautiful on occasions, as if someone has thrown an entire sack of sequins into the sky, and looking like something out of War of Worlds on others. David Chancellor (chancellordavid) is fascinated by these complex insects and their magnificent metamorphosis from individuals into gregarious swarms. To stay tuned for more on this story and how it develops in the next days follow chancellordavid. natgeo thephotosociety #locust #desertlocust #kenya #northernkenya #africa
