Two orca families that live in this location have devised a feeding strategy that is unique in the world. The leader of the family—an older, wiser female—stealthily swims into the weanling pool and grabs a seal pup. She then brings it offshore to her family and teaches them the predation strategy. The entire event can sometimes last for hours before they actually feed. Whales and dolphins have unique cultures, some dating back thousands of years. Like humans, genetically identical species do things differently depending on where in the world they live.
