Photo by mattiasklumofficial / Some 24 years ago, I got my first National Geographic cover. I had spent 14 months with my team in the rainforest of Borneo (1995-96). I still remember the phone call from natgeo giving me the news. We had worked so hard as a team, I was 29 years old, and it really meant the world to have my silvered leaf monkey on the cover. I can admit that I'm not less curious or less determined to use photography and sincere storytelling for the benefit of people, endangered species, and ecosystems. Quite the opposite!
