Teissy, 25, was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. Her parents brought her and her identical twin to the U.S. when they were five years old. She remembers her first days in kindergarten, understanding that she was different from the other students because she didn't speak English. The U.S. DACA* policy gave her confidence and the ability to attend college. Today she's the student body president at Southwest Community College and also works full-time as an essential domestic caregiver.
