As I walked along an endless stretch of sandy, Antarctic beach with this group, I couldn't help but wonder, Was there a special bond amongst them? Did they care for each other, or was their partnership founded solely on survival? Are they capable of experiencing friendship in the same way we do? I don't have the answers, but asking the questions can help foster a relatability to creatures that may seem very unlike us.
