A little bit about me, Dr. Alena: I was born and raised in North Carolina and received my undergraduate degree from East Carolina University in Organizational Communication with a focus on Marketing and Public Relations. While working in advertising and marketing, I began to experience pain in the lower back and body aches paired with brain fog and chronic fatigue. I was later diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that ended up changing my life. Looking for an alternative to medications, I sought out a more holistic approach and took control of my health. I began receiving massage therapy and acupuncture. Due to the remarkable results that I received; I decided to pursue Chinese Medicine as a career. I attended National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois, where I completed my Masters of Science in Acupuncture degree.
