CW // current US events . . . January 6, 2021 has been an intensely emotional, triggering, and traumatizing day for folks. A day of elation and anger. A day where the Georgia runoff election results were announced, Congress reconvened to certify President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College victory, and a day when domestic terrorists stormed the U.S. Capitol. Be sure to check-in. Check-in with yourself and with your loved ones. Please reach out the Diversity Action Group if we can support you in any way. More contact information for other university resources are listed on the 2nd slide! Today, I intended to share January’s DEI and multicultural holidays (apologies for the late post as I’m getting settled from winter break). I considered postponing, but instead am moving forward with posting these days as a way to share the many ways our world celebrates this first month of 2021.
