50 years of our changing planet through the eyes of Landsat! 🌎 Since 1972, USGS & NASA have worked together on an unprecedented and nearly continuous visual record of Earth’s landscapes, icescapes and coastal ecosystems. Landsat spacecraft sense light outside the visible range, so these images show more than what eyes can see. One could even call them works of art. To celebrate 50 years of partnership, we’re sharing our top 10 “Earth as Art” images from the more than 10 million we’ve collected. Happy #Landsaturday! 1. Dardzha Peninsula: Winds whip orange dunes near the cobalt waters of Turkmenistan. Shallow coastal terraces look like a monstrous ogre with something gooey in its mouth. 2.
