By our powers combined… Through combining data from telescopes that can detect different kinds of light, we can fully investigate cosmic phenomena! These images were created by pairing data from telescopes on ground and in space, including NASAChandraXray and NASAHubble. The universe emits light and energy through many forms. Chandra’s X-ray-observing abilities let us explore super hot and energetic processes found throughout the universe: 📸R Aquarii: A white dwarf star and a red giant orbit each other. As they move together, the white dwarf pulls material from the red giant onto its surface. 📸Guitar Nebula: An X-ray stream (in pink) jets out from a pulsar, almost perpendicular to the Guitar Nebula. 📸 Merging galaxies: A spiral galaxy collides with a smaller galaxy in the upper right corner (not pictured).
