Every year, we pause to remember the members of the NASA family we have lost in the pursuit of exploration and discovery. This year, our NASA Day of Remembrance falls on Jan. 27, 2022, the 55th anniversary of the Apollo 1 tragedy. Astronauts Roger Chaffee, Gus Grissom, and Ed White perished when a fire engulfed their capsule during a pre-launch test. As we embark on a new era of space exploration while standing on the shoulders of giants, we remain committed to building a healthy culture of safety, and applying the hard lessons we’ve learned. #NASARemembers: Challenger STS-51L • Greg Jarvis • Christa McAuliffe • Ron McNair • Ellison Onizuka • Judy Resnik • Dick Scobee • Michael Smith Columbia STS-107 • Michael Anderson • David Brown • Kalpana Chawla • Laurel Blair Salton Clark • Rick Husband • Willie McCool • Ilan Ramon Credit: NASA ##NASARemembers Apollo1 #Columbia #Challenger #Space #Heroes #Astronauts #Remembering #NASA
